On October 28 2014, Caucasus Business and Development Network organised a presentation of Caucasus Brands in Abkhazia. The event was held to show the achievements of CBDN in supporting regional cooperation through collaboration between business communities in the South Caucasus.
The event took place in the courtyard of the restaurant ‘Ertsakhu’ in the centre of the town. It was a private event to which select attendees were invited to taste teas and honeys from across the Caucasus, including the Caucasus Brands products – tea, honey and cheese created through regional sectoral cooperation. Guests from local authorities, tea, honey and agricultural sectors, the business sector and civil society organisations were in attendance to hear about the work of CBDN.
Those present included Beslan Butba, who spoke about his support for initiatives such as this, and the need to develop the Abkhaz beekeeping sector. All guests gave positive feedback on the products and their regional format.
As well as promoting the aims of the network, the event provided a platform for like-minded individuals and representatives of organisations to meet, discuss the theme of cooperation, and to form business contacts.
